The Delphic E

The Delphic E

This blog documents  the work of two related groups:  E, a group formed originally to experiment with the uses of digital technologies to support new modes of collective intelligence.  The initial project was inspired by, but not limited to,  the Digging Into Data challenge.  The information explosion has exceeded the capacities of the fastest computers, and the best designs proposed to date.  What do you do with a million books?  What do you do with the half a million Libraries of Congress that come online every year?  The practical goal is to design a database and interface capable of transforming sublime dimensions of data into knowledge.  The challenge to invent new practices of storage and retrieval of information is an invitation, in addition, to bootstrap education into a new paradigm, even a new apparatus (social machine).  The other collaboration is that of the Florida Research Ensemble, concerned with developing the equivalent of literacy for an Internet civilization.  Electracy, in short.  What does that spell?  FRE/E.
